We are seeking dynamic, dependable, and high-energy individuals to join us for the 2026 Kentucky State Fair, returning to the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center from August 20–30, 2026.   • 🔹 Employment Eligibility for all positions

    • Must be 18 years of age or older, eligible to work in the United States, and have a valid email address and submit to a pre-employment Background check.
    • Compensation: Competitive event roles starting at $13.00+ per hour. Direct
    • Direct Deposit is required for all event staff. Paydays are the 15th and 30th of the month.
    • Flexible Scheduling: We offer Day, Evening, and Night shifts; however, availability to work the full duration of the event (August 20–30) is required.
    • Some Positions may start work as early as August 1st to assist with event preparation.
    • Applicants must be comfortable working around large crowds and in outdoor spaces that may be unshaded. Staff may work around livestock and moving vehicles throughout the fairgrounds.
    • Must be able to walk and traverse the fairgrounds and wear required safety gear (e.g., reflective vests) as directed. Must have ability to stand for long periods.

  • 🔹 Access Control & Guest Services Team

    Serve as the face of the Fair! These teams ensure every guest receives a warm welcome and a smooth experience.

    • Gate Attendant: Handle currency and operate a POS system for the sale of admission tickets and parking fees at the entrance gate. Authenticate credentials and check identification for employees, visitors, and contractors to ensure only authorized individuals enter the grounds.
    • Attendants & Security: Monitor entrances, verify credentials, and direct guests around restricted areas.
      Ushers: Greet guests and provide directions to seats, restrooms, and other services.
      Ticket Takers: Monitor seating areas and verify tickets at event doors.

    Required: to pass a basic math test to accurately calculate currency.
    Professional Image: Staff provide black pants or shorts, black shoes, black socks, and a black belt. A uniform work shirt is provided.

    🔹 Operations Events Team

    Join the "backbone" of the Fair! The Operations team ensures all venues are pristine and ready for daily festivities.

    • Grounds & Venues: Perform trash pick-up and sweeping in all areas, including the Horse Barns, West Wing, North/South Wings, Coliseum, and parking lots.
    • Livestock Support: Sweep and clean aisles between cattle stalls and livestock cages; lay tar paper in animal exhibit and horse stall areas.
    • Event Setup: Clean, set up, and tear down tables, chairs, and barriers for events in assigned work areas.
    • Maintenance: Keep areas around exhibits and aisles clean and professional.

     

    Required for Operations: Must be able to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs. unassisted, maneuver in tight spaces to clean, and work comfortably around livestock, straw/hay, dust and crowded areas.
    Professional Image: Employees are expected to wear long work pants (Khaki preferred), plain T-shirts (no ads), and closed-toed shoes (steel-toe recommended). A safety vest is provided for staff.
