Talent Classic Preliminary Contest Application for Sanction
This application must be completed each year by the chairperson of the preliminary requesting sanction.

Each county fair or organization participating in the Talent Classic shall produce only one preliminary contest per age category. If multiple sessions are required to accommodate the number of participants, it is suggested that the organization host one final preliminary event to determine the contestants who will advance to the State Fair. Any exceptions to this rule must be submitted to Kentucky State Fair staff for approval in advance.
County Fair or Organization * requests sanction to sponsor a preliminary contest for the Kentucky State Fair Talent Classic. We agree that the overall top three (3) placed acts of our preliminary, eligible under the rules of the state contest, shall be assured of competing in the contest held during the Kentucky State Fair. The preliminary shall submit all paperwork and performance recordings no later than three (3) days after the preliminary is held in order for the winning acts to participate in the state contest this year. (Performance recordings accepted are: MP4 files emailed or flash drive or DVD mailed to 937 Phillips Ln, Louisville, KY 40209.) Preliminary information provided after July 31, 2025 will qualify the overall top three (3) acts for competition in 2026, pending eligibility under the contest rules.
